IN LOVE WITH CANGGU
Canggu is my favorite area in Bali, it is so open with rice fields everywhere and yet has some of the best cafes, surf spots, bars, beach clubs and shops in Bali. Its not over crowded with tourists like in Kuta and Seminyak and has a really relaxed vibe.
A DAY IN CANGGU
My husband and I spent a day exploring Canggu on a scoopy. First stop, breakfast at Peloton Super Shop, a plant based, vegan cafe dedicated to biking with really cool interiors and amazing food. Try the hash stack and smoothie bowls.
Next stop, Bewara Beach. We had such a peaceful morning walk along the beach watching beach bars setting up and surfers hitting the big waves. From there we went to Love and Anchor Complex to stock up goodies from the Sunday market. Be sure to check out Billie’s Canggu on the second floor, they have really cool tropical themed products. There’s a parking lot opposite and you can explore the area by foot after shopping since its on the main street with many nice stores and cafes.
Google Pretty Poison and find the shortcut road in Canggu if you don’t end up passing through it anyway. We ended up passing it 2 times that day, once in the morning and once at night. Its a really narrow road between rice fields and we were glad not to find any cars fallen in the fields.
Our lunch was at Beetlenut Cafe, since its popular there can be a small wait to get a table. The food was excellent, try the falafel bowl and passion fruit drink, yumm yumm yumm! Just next door is a cool cafe called crate, great coffees and the perfect place for people watching.
Experience sundowns at beach clubs, there are tons, we chose the The Lawn and it was unforgettable. We went early by 4:00 pm to get a nice spot under the umbrellas and we stayed will 7:00 pm but we really could spend all night there. The cocktails were bliss, specially the coconut water mojito, can’t get enough of that; they played live music and had a small pool on the beach to cool off in. It was perfect!
Next, we had some chilled Bintangs at Old Mans, a crazy place where we wish we had some more company. Its perfect for a big group of friends. From there we had late dinner at this place called Ulekan that serves authentic Indonesian food, they also had a bunch of veg options and it was delicious, try the different Sambals if you dare. There is so much more to do in Canggu and we wish we had more time to explore and just laze around in cafes, definitely staying here on our next trip to Bali.
