Birmingham was the last destination on our winter break before we (my friends) headed back to university. We spent our New Years eve at Gate Crashers- welcoming 2013.
We got here on 30th evening from Manchester and had dinner at this amazing South Indian restaurant called Chennai Dosa. Apart from all the partying and eating I did get some time (hardly) to see Birmingham before we left on 2nd Jan.
The Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery was my first stop on 31st.
Mail Box was the next stop since I had limited time in the city and had to get a good view from the top. We had late lunch there and spent the evening walking by the canals before we headed back to partyy!
We spent the first morning of the year grabbing pizzas and chips at 6am. After sleeping till pretty late we went to this amazing buffet place- Jimmy Spice and that might have been my best meal of the year. Since I was in Birmingham, I had to make a stop at the famous Bullring to pick up some new outfits for the year (did someone say forever 21?)
Later I thought of walking to the Chamberlain Square- where the Museum and Art Gallery is located. Its a beautiful public square in the city center that has various monuments and the Town Hall too. We also visited the massive and very beautiful Birmingham Cathedral- St. Phillip’s Cathedral.
We left Birmingham early the next morning, it was a happy new year indeed!
