2 days were not enough to see Manchester, specially because it was end of December- which meant long nights partying and late mornings sleeping. However, here’s my glimpse of the city.

Piccadilly city center and Market Street

We spent a lot of time here since our accommodation was opposite the Arndale shopping center, did not get many photos because of the rain. The entire Market street was lit up in the December night with Christmas decorations, the area is happening with a lot of bars and restaurants.

Manchester Art Gallery

Another rainy afternoon spent indoors at the Art Gallery, but totally worth it. They have an amazing collection!

The only picture I could get of the Neo-classical gallery structure while saving my camera from the rain!

Old Trafford- Manchester United museum and stadium tour

Could not have missed this since friends who I was travelling with are BIG fans. Very interesting tour, unfortunately we did not get to attend a game.

Northern Quarter- antiques shops and Affleck’s Vintage Store

A very quirky area of Manchester, I had a lot of fun just walking around and stepping into random shops- not buying anything! The Affleck’s Vintage Store is massive, they have some cool stuff. Oh and I love the mosaic work done outside the store by artist- Mark Kennedy.
