We started off by getting dropped near the City Palace area of Udaipur and walked our way up a narrow lane (City Palace Road). We (my family) kept walking while peaking through the colourful handicraft shops, could not buy much since our bags were filled from shopping in Jaipur. We picked up some small stuff- hand painted post cards, miniature paintings, jewelry and accessories etc..

By around 5pm we had reached the Jagdish Temple, we wanted to catch the sunset and have a couple drinks before our flight. We asked a local shopkeeper to suggest a good roof top with a lake view and 5 minutes later we are awe struck with breathtaking views of Udaipur. The rooftop restaurant is called Mewar Haweli, it had an incredible view of the lake surrounded by mountains and the Lake Palace Hotel floating in the middle. I thought it was a good idea to view the city from an offbeat rooftop like this compared to the many star hotels that Udaipur has.
